Kai received his M.S. degree from NE agriculture University, P.R. China in June 1998. After receiving his M.S. degree, he worked as assistant researcher in Shanghai Transgenic animal center, P.R. China. In September 2000, he started his Ph.D. program in stem cell research center, Shanghai second medical University, P.R. China. He earned his Ph.D. degree in June 2004. His Ph.D. research was focused on therapeutic cloning. Before joining the Cellular Reprogramming Laboratory research he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Fels institute, Medical school, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Research Interests:
Epigenetics control in early development, Somatic cell reprogramming, and stem cell differentiation.
