Arif
received his M.S. degree from Texas A&M University, College
Station, Texas in December 1996. After receiving his M.S. degree,
he started his Ph.D. program in January 1997 in the Department
of Biological Sciences at Middle East Technical University,
Ankara, Turkey where Arif worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant.
He earned his Ph.D. degree from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama
in May 2002. His Ph.D. research was focused on the development
of genomic reagents and resources to study functional genomics
of channel catfish. Before joining the Cellular Reprogramming
Laboratory research he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow
at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University
of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas.
