Arif received his M.S. degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas in December 1996. After receiving his M.S. degree, he started his Ph.D. program in January 1997 in the Department of Biological Sciences at Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey where Arif worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. He earned his Ph.D. degree from Auburn University, Auburn, Alabama in May 2002. His Ph.D. research was focused on the development of genomic reagents and resources to study functional genomics of channel catfish. Before joining the Cellular Reprogramming Laboratory research he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Research Interests:
Embryonic Stem Cell Research, Epigenomics, Nuclear Transfer Cloning, Embryogenomics and Animal Biotechnology.
